About the program
Performance Management is an ongoing process to enhance employee effectiveness and work performance, career development and potential. It is continuous processes where managers and employees work together to mutually agree on the goals-setting and outcomes and identify the type of support and resources that will enable the employees to perform their roles and responsibilities effectively. The manager also needs to constantly monitor and review an employee’s work objectives or goals and provides feedback on the employee’s overall contribution to the organization and the team.

Essential skills to conduct Performance Appraisal Session
- Acquire skill-sets to conduct performance appraisal confidently and professionally
- Provide positive and constructive feedback that motivates the staff to do better and enhance performance. (Participants will apply the skills during the real-life work scenarios case studies and role plays as an appraiser.)
- Prepare the groundwork as an appraiser using factual observation and feedback
- Assess mutually agreed S.M.A.R.T Goals and Key Performance Indicators and Results
- Identify common challenges faced by appraiser and appraisal errors such as personal biases that leads to inaccurate measurement and assessment
- Provide positive and constructive feedback through appreciative inquiry and situation-behaviour-impact framework
Managing different types of Performers
- Manage and motivate the different types of performers ranging from poor under/average/high performers
- Identify training and development plans and apply the performance –potential assessment.
- Manage different types of performers through skill/will matrix and identify training and development plans
- Apply the Performance –Potential assessment using the 9 Box Grid to differentiate Performance and Potential and work towards mutually agreed “Stretch” targets/assignments, cross-functional projects/teams, career development plan, rotation, promotion
- Manage workplace disagreements and conflicts
- Craft out a personal action plan on interpersonal relationship effectiveness
- Understand and enter into the other’s party world view (Link to Emotional Intelligence profile)
